It’s hard to believe September is here already. The course has been fantastic most of the summer and I expect those conditions until we get a frost. Fall is the best time of the year to be on the course. We have a course in great condition, great weather and gorgeous scenery with all the foliage changing colors.
The turf is starting its recovery process with new roots beginning to extend deeper into the soil. The cooler nights have helped the turf recover from the summer conditions. We will be seeding roughs soon. We typically will aerify before we seed. So, if you see an area of aerified rough please avoid with carts it likely has recently planted seed trying to germinate.
Just a reminder: We are scheduled to aerify greens September 18th and 19th. (Monday and Tuesday). Nine holes will be open for play each day. All 18 should be open by Tuesday afternoon. If we have good weather conditions after we aerify the greens should back in great shape in about 12-14 days.
