Dress Code
Footwear: Golf Shoes or tennis shoes are required. No bare feet or sport cleats.
Shorts: All golfers are required to wear Bermuda style shorts and must be worn appropriately with a belt. No athletic, cutoffs, jeans or denim of any kind.
Shirts: All golfers are required to wear a collared golf shirt with short sleeves. No tank-tops or t-shirts. Ladies are permitted to wear sleeveless golf shirts.
Hats: Golfers are encouraged to wear hats to protect and prevent sun burn on the face and neck. Baseball or visor style hats must be worn with the bill over the eyes facing forward.
Handicaps
We currently use the GHIN Handicap Program here at Owensboro Country Club. GHIN is a national handicap program that services over 2 million people at nearly 9700 golf courses nationwide. It allows you to post scores at any GHIN provided golf course in the country. It also allows you to post scores from your home via the internet. The charge for a yearly handicap is $40.
Driving Range
The driving range is a great place to warm up before your round or find a 9-hole game after work. Members can choose to pay for their range balls as they go at $6 a bag or join the Individual Range Membership, Double Range Membership or Family Range Plan. Plans are billed in February each year and entitle any member on the plan to unlimited range balls – a great money saver for those who love to practice on their game.
Range hours vary throughout the year based on the amount of daylight.
Golf Bag Storage
Club storage and golf club cleaning services are provided year round for members and their families. Club storage personnel, or one of your golf professionals, are on duty at all times to transport your clubs to and from the club storage room. The staff will stage your clubs onto your cart before playing, and remove them when you are finished.
When members bring their equipment to the club storage room, they should register their equipment with one of the professional staff. An Owensboro Country Club identification tag will be attached to your bag with your name and storage number. The staff will be happy to assist you before and after your round. Our staff will then clean your equipment and store them until your next round.
Annual Cart Plan
The cart plan has been restructured for the upcoming season. This plan gives a member and his family (who are still covered under the membership) unlimited cart usage – great savings for the regular golfer.
The charge is $850, and includes bag storage for one person and a designated amount of free greens fees for your guests, relatives, business customers or friends. The fees for the cart plan are billed over a 6 month period from April to September.
The cart plan is is perfect for the golfer as it allows allows you to come out and play just a few holes at a time, or play all day, which ever you choose. It also helps keep the bookkeeping simple!! This plan also gives the member (10) free green fees, a $400 value (not including cart fees).
Other bonus savings with this plan is the member will receive (1) free bag storage ($85 value).
Golf Club Repair
Owensboro Country Club is a full service club repair shop. Some of the services available are lie and loft changes, extending and shortening shafts, re-shafting, and re-gripping. All of these repairs are done in house by PGA Professionals in a timely fashion to get you back on the course as quickly as possible. In addition to these services we also offer custom club fitting. Head Professional Jason Fitch has extensive experience with the Titleist, Cobra and Callaway Custom Fitting Systems. It is recommend you be custom fit for your new clubs. If you purchase your new clubs in the golf shop your custom fitting will be deducted from the price of your irons. You can’t lose!!
